This device is what started it all! We love our magnetic cabinet and drawer latches, and they do a fantastic job of keeping the doors and drawers shut when we bounce down the road. But sometimes they work too well, especially when we aren't rolling. When living at a campsite, we want the doors to open and close like the ones we used in our sticks and bricks home. No more yanking doors and drawers open!
Purposely designed and created
We've seen it all, and rather than hodge-podge something from tape, washers and felt, or anything else, we developed a clean, sleek, and simple tab to block the strength of the magnetic catches when you're not traveling! This is not an adaptation of an existing product. We designed and manufactured this to an exact spec and have them custom made for RVDD. They measure 0.5mm thick and are painted black to blend in with the existing hardware inside the cabinets. They are non-marring and fit perfectly.
How does it work?
It is not a magnet. It's a tab that blocks the effectiveness of an existing magnet! Think of it as a buffer between hardware. It's simple to use: place a tab over the magnet portion of the latch, the metal side towards the magnet. The opposing side is soft silicone rubber that meets the cabinet or drawer face. There's just enough grab to keep it closed, but not enough to make you have to yank it open! Tested with people who struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, they declared this something they'll never live without.
Don't leave it in place while you travel!
While it's one more checklist item to add to your pack-up day-of-travel routine to remove and stow them, you'll discover how convenient they are, and you'll wonder how you got along without! We simply remove the tab, set it on the cabinet shelf or in a drawer, and close the door. It's right there for the next use. If you leave it in place and travel, they will do a fine job of allowing your cabinets to swing open, and that is not a good thing!
